The Regional Advocacy for Public Development (RAPiD) is a non partisan, non affiliated, non politically aligned and not for profit organisation formed by the people and for the people in response to the growing concerns of the steady devaluation of the quality of life in Ghana. We are a multi-purpose advocacy group which aims to find effective solutions to socio-economic, environmental and governmental problems through research, consultations and advocacy. We wish to assist public institutions with policy evaluation and monitor the effective implementation of policies on the ground.
The RAPiD aims to evaluate current policies and advocate for change where lapses have been identified. We also seek to ensure the maintenance of the established peace and democracy in our country by making sure that development and infrastructure is available to every citizen of Ghana irrespective of their party affiliation, socio-economic status, tribal background or geographical location.
The organisation will also conduct a nationwide Youth Development Program (YDP) which seeks to imbibe in students, core values and practical leadership skills to build them into responsible citizens and leaders. Furthermore, we will conduct Public Health and Community Outreach Projects, which will improve the quality of life and increase life expectancy. Furthermore, we will create awareness on the benefits of a democratic society and accountability in governance through consistent media campaigns so as to harness public participation.
As a first of its kind organisation in Ghana, what makes us unique is our goal of finding unbiased solutions to national problems without aiming to discredit any political party or personalities. Also we will work closely with public institutions under any government in place to augment public development and effectively managed public services. Our long term goal is to export this idea to other growing democracies in Africa in order to contribute to their improvement.
